ARVELDAN Local Backup — Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026.

Purpose and data access

ARVELDAN Local Backup is a private backup utility operated by its owner. It requests the Google Drive read-only permission to list folders and files, read file metadata, download file contents, and export supported Google Workspace documents for a local backup.

The permission is read-only. The utility does not modify, delete, or change sharing permissions on source files in Google Drive.

Data use and storage

Google Drive data is used only to create and maintain the owner's local backup. Backup files and retained versions are stored on the Windows computer in the destination chosen by the owner. Local reports may include filenames, paths, file identifiers, timestamps, backup counts, and error information.

OAuth authorization tokens and application configuration are stored in a private folder in the owner's Windows user profile so the utility can run scheduled backups. The utility's configuration restricts that folder to the intended Windows user and system administrators.

The local utility transfers backup contents from Google Drive to the owner's computer. It is not configured to upload those contents to a separate backup service. Any separately configured cloud backup in the owner's Google Drive is an independent process.

Sharing and limited use

Google user data accessed by this utility is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized artificial intelligence models. The utility does not publish backed-up files or share them with other users.

ARVELDAN Local Backup's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention and control

Local backup copies, reports, and older file versions remain until the owner removes them. Deleting a source file in Google Drive does not automatically delete its local backup.

The owner can stop scheduled backups in Windows Task Scheduler and revoke the utility's access in Google Account settings. Revoking access prevents future authorized access; it does not erase files already stored locally. The owner may separately delete local backup files and authorization configuration.
